“In this world
Hate never yet dispelled hate.
Only love dispels hate.
This is the law,
Ancient and inexhaustible.”
“When you are experiencing fear you are caught in your separateness. When you are experiencing love you are caught in your unity with all things. That love is, the verb love, is a vehicle of permeating the boundaries and when you experience that opening of the boundaries you feel the quality of love. Which means a flow or energy or merging with the universe around you and that one is obviously the antidote for fear, its going to the place behind your own separateness.”
“I realized that the people I really found joy in were not always people who loved me—nearly as much as people who loved what I loved.”
“Being love, rather than taking or giving love, is the only thing that provides stability.”
Maharaji told us to meditate like Christ, and when I asked him how to do that, Maharaji closed his eyes and sat in front of us, completely still; so still that it felt like the whole world stopped turning.
After a couple of minutes, two tears came down his cheek, and then he opened his eyes, looked at us and said, “He lost himself in love. That’s how he meditated. He’s one with all beings. He never died, no one understands. He lost himself in love.””
“Love is our true destiny. We do not find the meaning of life by ourselves alone - we find it with another.”
“Love flows. Love doesn’t know boundaries. The mind creates boundaries. The mind creates the boundary of separate me and you. The heart just keeps embracing and opening out.”
“Freedom and love go together. Love is not a reaction. If I love you because you love me, that is mere trade, a thing to be bought in the market; it is not love. To love is not to ask anything in return, not even to feel that you are giving something—and it is only such love that can know freedom.”
“Loving-kindness meditation dispels the illusion of an us and them; there is only us.”
“Though we cannot think alike, may we not love alike? May we not be of one heart, though we are not of one opinion? Without all doubt, we may. Herein all the children of God may unite, notwithstanding these smaller differences.”
